I tried logging off and it won't let me do that either so I'll satrt over here and hope I can view replies tomorrow. OK back to the topic at hand. My second road trip of the year was dialed in, a 4-day 2,400km round trip from Florida, Alabama and Georgia. This was Marvin's first run past the state line with the new heart. My rear guard Made the first leg, great riding day but.............. CONTINUED HERE: Spoiler: click to toggle not without drama. First thing this morning the battery was too low to start, I left the Chatter Box plugged in over night and surprise, surprise it uses current even when it's turned off but fortune smiled on me, my neighbor was just going to work and I got him to give me a push. 832 km later and it's time to service the chain and SURPRISE, I only have 1/2 a master link left, mental note, next time I spot a broken safety wire don't wait a month to replace it, DOH! Fortunately I had a spare, but no grease, just chain lube, well as long as it gets me back I'll replace it then. I can't wait to see what the next day holds in store for me. Day 2 was an easy ride, once here my friend procured a new master link for me so I'm good to go. Tomorrow I ride to Dawsonville,GA. Day 3. Great ride today with 1 panic moment. I was sitting first at a light in a small town when from my right comes a flatbed semi and he's turning left. I look left and having driven the big rig I know about the offtrack needed for such a turn so my first though "there's no way" I start pushing the bike back as fast as my dainty gimpy legs will go, I get about 8 feet back from where I was when his trailer wheels passed about a foot in front of me. It should be legal to shoot people like that. One more day and I head back home, 0400 I launch. My last day was a great one, a bit chilly the first 200 km, upper 20's and my electric vest dicided to take a vacation so I toughed it out until daylight and found a wire pulled out of a connector, easy fix and it was nice to be toasty again. I had a nice sunrise leading to clear blue skies for the rest of the day. People who interstate it everywhere just don't know what they're missing like the old buildings in these small towns. At some point I crossed back into Florida, it wasn't hard to tell. All in all a most beaudacious road trip, 873km for my last day. 2 road trips down and 3 to go. Party on Garth.
