2005 Venox purchased 3 July 09
Hi Everyone.

Today (3 July 09) I bought a stock 2005 Venox with about 900 miles from the original owner. I haven't ridden a bike for about 30 years (owned a Yami 750 for awhile when I was about 19 then traded it for a '52 Dodge 1/2 ton that I owned for 20 years). I did a LOT of research on what bike to buy and the Venox kept coming up to the top of the list and a couple of them turned up on Craigslist in my local area so I went for it.

Anyways I'm really happy to have discovered this awesome forum. Hi all! HAPPY

I live in Bellingham Washington - that's about 90 miles north of Seattle and 60 south of Vancouver BC. Great place to ride as we have wonderful country highways out to Mt. Baker, Chuckanut Mountain ,etc.

I bought the Venox because I haven't ridden in so long and wanted something not overpowering but also not too small that I'd want to trade it for something larger in a couple weeks. Just taking it easy, re-learning how to ride and then plan to take the "course" and get my endorsement (just have a permit now - my girlfriend teased me today that it sounds like I'm 16 years old LOL. ;ROLLEYES: )

Okay I just read the owners manual and can't even figure out how to flip open the seat to get at the tools, battery etc. The prev. owner had never even done it :-) But I think the battery is either dying or just undercharged from winter storage (will spare you the details) so want to see if it'll take a charge but have to figure out how to get at the battery first. Any advice would be most appreciated!

Brian

QUESTION(s) ? piwyrmanagement@gmail.com
:PIWYRWELCOME: :KYMCOCOOL:

Thanks for the introduction !!
Most informative..

Several of us are long time riders and 'discovered' the Venox and are glad we did.

TOOL BOX

Sorry to say but here in the USA we do NOT have one. The space has been replaced with EPA smog equipment. IF we had it it would be behind the left panel right below the seat.

You 'might' still have the allen wrench on the down tube under the handle bars. The original owner also should have got a small plastic pouch with limited tools (screw driver - spanner- etc. )
To get totally under the seat (you can not 'flip' it up) you take off both top side panels on each side which allows you to get to the front bolts that hold the seat down, the other bolt is at the top back.
This takes the seat totally off.

We hope to see and hear a lot more about your new 'baby'... we also insist on :TAKEAPIC:

If you have any Q's post them here, start a new topic or PM/Email the forum or any member of staff.

THANK YOU

QUESTION(s) ? piwyrmanagement@gmail.com
POSTING VIDEOS
using the FLASH BBC code

Here at Zetaboards its different then at invisionfree.

At invisionfree you used the embedded tags and wrap the long code in [doHTML] tags.

Here ''FLASH'' tags are used.

The easiest video to do is youtube !

For youtube you just wrap the URL of the video (page) with the flash tags adjusting the hieght & width to what you want.
We suggest no larger then: 500,500 .

Using this code :

[flash=250,210]http://www.youtube.com/v/z7SeHqxOVYc[/flash]

Gives you this:

This is when the size is changed from 250,210 to 500,500.

Posting and you do not remember the flash code ? No problem just click on the link above the posting box area and it will give you a full listing of the 'built-in' BBC codes you can use here.
This link: Full BBCode List

Have a different video source to post ?
First try the way youtube works and if not successful this means you will need to use two bits of code from the EMBEDDED tag connecting the codes with a question mark (?)
The first bit of code you will use is the player source code and the second is the actual information for the video.

** Refer to this website we created to explain in more detail ''HOW TO'' for different video sources: http://s1.zetaboards.com/FLASHCODES/index/

If you have a question post it here on THIS TOPIC and not that forum as that was created for others to use also that are not PIWYR.com members and we do not check it that often.

Like anything this may seem difficult but once you know how its easy!
All the slide.com slide shows some members have in their sig. (click their ''spoiler bar'') were done this way.

A easy way to view and search the old forums topics is by using the invisionfree archive site map.
It bypasses the rest of the forums information for a quick load.

Thanks for all the great info, obxbiker! :SNOOPY:

Yes I read a little about the sprocket mod and plan to do it. Eventually. First thing I want to do is get the battery thing figured out and then also remove all the warning stickers and maybe the tank emblems. I've read here some advice on how to do that so will head over to those forums to post any questions.

Will post photos to when I get them. Have to borrow the girlfriend's camera - much better than mine! :COOLBEANS:

Happy 4th! HAPPY

:OLD: WELCOME I am a proud owner of a yellow 05 Venox and love every minute I have been on it. Even went on 900+mile trip a couple of years ago. The larger sprocket kit is the best bang for your buck mod and you will like the bike even more.

Welcome to the group and the Venox family. I know you will love the Venox. The battery should not to big of a deal. But can be a pain. It cuts down riding time. And I third the sprocket kit. It is almost a must have for the Venox. On a side note you are close to some family I have up there. They live in Moses Lake. Not real close but compare to Texas. lol

Thanks MOJO75. Yeah Moses Lake is a bit away - "Eastern" WA. I've been there though and a great "little" town.

REAL RIDERS and OWNERS HERE !! piwyrmanagement@gmail.com
:OLD: I was there also picked up a load of potato shavings and took them to the real Idaho potato company in Idaho. Also they have real brave sea gulls there. I was driving out of a truck stop and it would walk in front of me and squawk at me but not fly off. I was in a freightliner with a loaded 53' trailer and that sea gull was not giving a inch.

QUESTION(s) ? piwyrmanagement@gmail.com
Not charging the battery all winter will kill it...

Keep the battery hooked up to a low charge 'battery tender'' to keep it at peak charge.
I have 'pigtails' on mine so its a quick set up. The battery will last up to 10 times longer, this is true with any battery.
