[ SLIDE SHOW ] → •The Buttertubs Pass; A rag round the Yorkshire Dales
Got the urge to go and really stretch the bikes legs today, so did a 120 mile round trip up to the buttertubs pass, taking in many many miles of B road and single track country lanes. The buttertubs pass is one of the best driving roads in England, it is high and twisty, with some serious gradients. I was down into 2nd gear in many places! The pictures dont really do it justice, because it is stupid to stop on the really twisty bits. The pass itself is only 6 miles, so you can learn it fairly easily. I went over it a few times for the hell of it. It is a bit of a brake killer though! I took it fairly easy on the downhill bits and let the engine braking help as much as possible.
Lets see if this slideshow thingie works.. (not very well, just click the little picture)
Some real nice pics of some very nice countryside - I could just about see Wintergrass (from Heartbeat) ambling down a couple of those roads  - well done Pete, glad you are making the most of that lil chopper. :HANDCLAP::HANDCLAP::HANDCLAP:
