200 miles in 40+ wind Sunday; Venox made it
Topic Started: Tuesday Sep 16 2008, 07:20 AM (300 Views)
Left from central Kentucky Saturday with 25 other bikes for overnight trip to Nashville. Went by backroads with plenty of stops. Had great time on Printers Alley Saturday night. Got up Sunday morning checked weather for ride back. Not good, wind warning for all day Tenn And Ky. Four of us left 9:00 AM to try and beat some of the wind. Three Harleys and me on my little Venox taking I-65 north. I had not been on much interstate and was worried if I could keep up with the Harleys and what effect wind would have on my light bike. We were able to run around 65-70 and I was amased with my bike. 5th gear all the way except couple times in 4th to pass trucks. Wind was bad but we made it home in 4 hours. The big boys could believe the perfromace of my Venox and I averaged 61.8 mpg on trip. I now feel like I can ride anywhere with anybody. Was going to trade for bigger bike but think I'll keep this yellow bike for a while

Preaching to the HD riders... just do not let the uninformed 'peer pressure' affect you. They will never know its ''just a 250'' unless you tell them ! :HAPPYRIDER:
