Well sadly, I dont have the time or the frame of mind to give you anywhere near the nice writeups that icedog does and with the maps and all. Sorry maybe next time.

I will tell you, however, that I've been trying to get together with Serp and his friends for their weekly Sunday morning ride and today it finally happened. I logged 325 miles total for the weekend. I rode 128 of them on Saturday, trying to "warm up" for Today (Sunday).

I met Serp and three of his riding buddies at their regular meeting place at 8:00am. A very nice group. We talked for awhile and decided to head north to ride the "Ozello Trail" off of north 19 in Citrus county first, before breakfast, to avoid slowdowns where the Churches were letting out.

Contrary to the agreed plan, we stopped for breakfast at the Nature Coast Cafe. After a hearty breakfast and more talking, we saddled up and began our ride. What a group of serious and highly skilled bikers. :OLD: Glen (serp), Roland, Dave, and Lou obviously had more miles behind them than I could fathom. This is where I found out what a sissy I really am! :LOLBIKE:

I ran in the back of course, but I never did see any of those Langoliers that are always chasing Serp.

Instead, I was chasing! Wow! I followed the group through twisties of the likes I have never seen! I dropped behind quite a few times, but Serp and the guys were actually surprised how well I did on my Venox.

Serp was on "Suzi" (his 1200 bandit), Dave on his Honda 909, Lou on his Buell, and Roland on his Honda (I forget the engine size/model) - they all had sport bikes and I was the odd man on my 250cc cruiser, but let me tell you... I pushed my Venox to and beyond all of its limits today. My tires are now showing some wear from outside edge to outside edge. I was careful though not to exceed my limitations as a rider ( which is why I fell behind more than a few times) because I'd rather arrive late than not arrive at all. True, the Venox was no match for the handling of a pack of sportbikes, but I didn't keep 'em waiting long at the turnoffs. These guys take riding seriously, but have fun doing it! They have the whole package - sharp turning skills, group formation riding skills with hand signals, everyone properly dressed in the right safety gear... very impressive. Riding with a group with as much experience as these guys have is just what I need to sharpen my skills ( still plan on taking the advanced safety course...just because).

What a rush!

I had a great time and will probably go again the week after next if my schedule allows (next week is my wife's birthday) . I only had time for two pics of the group at the end of Ozello Trail. After that we did some more twisties, riding on gobblers run.

EXCELLENT !

To have suprised them about how well the 'venox kept up'

1. more experiance like you said.
2. an aerodynamic windshield (not a HD crusier style)
2. rear sprocket upgrade.

Do the above and you will keep up... as long as you do not mind the tickets.

Naaa. I don't want any tickets, but once you get the twisty addiction, you start to realize that you're on a cruiser and sometimes it just won't do what you ask it to. I've already stiffened up the suspension and I'm considering a slight increase in tire pressure.

Yes a great ride today, bummer you're going to miss next weekend's ride, we're going to do Greenpond Rd. sorta like a Ozello/Gobbler hybrid with a one lane wooden bridge with tire runners.
Dave rides a CBR600RR and Roland has a 919 Honda. Next weekend Dave's riding his old CX500, Roland will have his Kaw EX500 and I'll be running marving.
Here's a little of what it looked like up front.

The music on the vid is what I had going on in the helmet during this ride. :HAPPYRIDER:
I can't slow down, the Langoliers will get me.
